太極十要與推手應用 The Ten Essentials of Tai Chi and Their Application in Push Hands

太極十要:沉肩墜肘、含胸拔背、鬆腰落胯、虛實分明⋯等等要訣。是訓練身體放鬆的要訣,尤其是肩、肘、腕⋯九環節。

故拳架的放鬆是為了要放下身體局部的力量,以備整合全身各部位的能量,來應對各種突如其來的攻擊招式。表面上看似「無為」,其實是處於「順勢而為」的狀態。 

The Ten Essentials of Tai Chi and Their Application in Push Hands

The Ten Essentials of Tai Chi include key principles such as sinking the shoulders and dropping the elbows, containing the chest and raising the back, relaxing the waist and settling the hips, and clearly distinguishing between emptiness and fullness, among others. These essentials are focused on training the body to relax, particularly in the nine joints, including the shoulders, elbows, and wrists.

The purpose of relaxation in the Tai Chi form is to release local tension in the body, allowing the practitioner to integrate energy from all parts of the body. This enables an effective response to unexpected attacks. While on the surface it may appear passive or "doing nothing/ non-action," in reality, it is a state of "acting in accordance with the situation."
