Yi Jian Taichi’s natural movement eight methods (Original Space Position, Original Body Position...) serve as the gateway to understanding Master Zheng Manqing’s key principle of "No Arms in Tai Chi." These methods also provide insight into the philosophical theories of Tai Chi classics and can be effectively applied in push-hand techniques. All enthusiasts are welcome to join.
The essence of "No Arms in Tai Chi." is that the hands "do not initiate action." Hands that do not initiate must rely on the strength of the waist and legs, gravity, reactive force, and inertia. This keeps the hands in a calm, observing state, ready to move according to the situation. This ability is essential for the skills of "controlling movement with stillness" and "overcoming hardness with softness."
The Original Empty Position is the key to training the lightness of various parts of the body, while the Original Body Position is the key to connecting all parts of the body as one. The balance of relaxation and stability, hardness and softness, emptiness and solidity, all interdepend on each other and allow for endless variations.
